Magnolia Record Club names 'South, West, North, East' the June 'Record of the Month'

From SK: "So when I was a kid there were several of these "11 CDs for a penny" clubs. You’d send away one cent and actually get 11 albums worth of new music. Some you knew, some you did not. Thus was born a life long love of music and a soundtrack to my life. It’s the kind of thing I forgot to do later in life; remember to keep discovering new music. Well I’m pleased to say, someone has taken up the mantle.My friend Drew Holcomb has started the Magnolia Record Club. Each month they send one vinyl record to your doorstep. Since they began I have never seen them choose a clunker, and that’s a darn good thing cause this month my own “South, West, North, East ” 180 gram, double vinyl with download card, is their record of the month."

One Month until the 6th Annual SK Family BBQ

In less than one month, Stephen will be taking on a marathon of music, lawn games and eating with friends and family (that's you!) in Vienna, VA.  Start the summer right and head to the 6th Annual SK Family BBQ to hear SWNE in its entirety (plus other favorites!)

Our Producer, Jordan Brooke Hamlin's project, the self-titled Moda Spira album is officially out!

In Jordan's word, "Almost 2 years ago, Latifah Phillips was kind enough to ask me to collaborate on the production, playing and writing of the vision she had been developing for her first solo record under the moniker Moda Spira. A lot of heart went into making this record and I'm so proud to see it released today. It's a document chronicling what it's like to love well through all matter of trials, growth, light and shadows. My time on the Wide Awake Tour with Parachute has officially come to a close! THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the shows. It was seriously one of the greatest tours I have ever been a part of and I'm so grateful to Parachute and everyone who made it such a great time! Special thanks for the folks in DC, Chapel Hill, Nashville & St. Louis for hanging with me through a nasty case of bronchitis (I'm almost 100% recovered FYI).  

So moving forward!...

I've got tons-o-shows coming up and I'll be putting even more (what? yes more!) shows on sale very soon.  

Also, guys summer is upon us and how awesome is summer? I'm just saying, it's 81 degrees outside and that makes me happy. I would be a little bit happier if my AC wasn't broken....but the AC guy's coming tomorrow so......ok...I think I'm rambling at this point.

Folks, I grew up in a town full of superstars. Literally. I walked the school halls with some freakishly talented people, including but not limited to the guitar great and tennis stars mentioned above. Also attending classes with me were NHL Rookie of the Year (Chris Drury), insanely funny actor (Justin Long) and the "Geico Guy" (Mike McGlone), I mean it's something. I'm not name dropping, I promise. I'm proud of these people all of whom were good people in the time that I knew them. And for every famous person who is exceptional, there are a hundred non-famous people who live where I grew up and make an impact with their lives. I think of my junior high dean of students, Jeff McHugh. Not only was he the first guy to suggest I try out for a play and join a band with his son; and not only did he play the banjo on my recent single "Last Man Standing", but the guy has literally improved thousands of lives as a steadfast, humorous and brilliant educator.

I guess what I am trying to say is that it means a great deal to me that the town magazine where I grew up picked me to talk about this month. That they took the time to do a feature about my new record "South, West, North, East" is really moving to me.
